Christie Coursey
Christie Coursey, is a lactation consultant of 18 years with experience in various environments of care including hospital, outpatient and public health. She is a published author in her field, and has served on multiple not for profit boards and advisory committees. She is currently serving as the Executive Director of Breastfeed Atlanta, an organization that works to decrease health disparities and improve health outcomes by offering access to high quality lactation care for moms and babies. Christie gives no fucks, and is going to do what’s right for moms and babies ahead of her own well-being (financial or otherwise). She knows more than g-d about the various milks that are fed to human infants and well as the maternal and infant microbiome, and believes in the importance of pushing forward the science of historically understudied maternal and infant health care. Come at her with myth bullshit and she will politely eat you for breakfast.

Lydia Medwin
Rabbi Lydia Medwin serves at The Temple, Atlanta’s oldest synagogue, as an Associate Rabbi. She is a certified Jewish Meditation Teacher and published author (with Dr. Ron Wolfson and Rabbi Nicole Auerbach of The Relational Judaism Handbook: How to Create a Relational Engagement Campaign to Build and Deepen Relationships in Your Community). Lydia proudly serves as co-chair of the board for the Multifaith Initiative to End Mass Incarceration. Rabbi Medwin is a powerhouse when it comes to connecting people and organizations for the purpose of promoting social justice. She has solid boundaries and will not be fucked with. She is not here to play. She joins this board with the intent to get moms and babies what they need to spite the paternalistic and racist social structures currently trying to squash hopes and dreams.

Maureen Starnes
Maureen Starnes has spent the last 23+ years caring for women and children in the hospital, in the outpatient clinic setting, and in the home through various roles as a pediatric nurse practitioner, dually certified in acute and primary care. More recently, she partnered with Breastfeed Atlanta to establish transition of care services to newborns and their mothers. The Newborn Clinic at Breastfeed Atlanta reduces infant morbidity and mortality, while strengthening the bonds between parents and their children, and reducing the burden to families and the healthcare system related to unnecessary hospital admissions for preventable problems. We encouraged Mo to set this thing up so she would quit giving all of our shit away and filling her garage with donated crap. Mo is also dually certified in guilt (white, and maternal). Please do not poke this bear. She likely is in a mood and needs a nap.
